el rafico vs SRC

As the 7 a side season comes ever closer, the pressure rises even higher as El Rafico must win every game to keep their South London League title hopes alive. With some star players out due to personal reasons, it truly felt like this would be a defining moment season.

SRC came with their youthful and fearless energy which they have showed throughout the season and were keen to avenge their earlier defeat and make further strides up the league. SRC are certainly the most improved team when compared to the start of the season and proved ever threatening with each gameweek.

El Rafico started very slow and sloppy and never truly got going and through luck they managed to keep the game to 1-1. Half-time came and needed to press the reset button but what came after was a collapse similar to Pana FC last week.

Some absolute beauties in this one and SRC frontline certainly turned up the gears and showed flair, energy and a clinical nature which El Rafico could not overcome.

reggae boyz vs pana fc

This may be one of the best, if not the best game of the season. Reggae Boyz having secure the league title due to El Rafico’s loss meant that they came with no pressure and looked to finish the season 10 wins out of 10. The only thing stopping Reggae Boyz were themselves to be honest as they proved throughout the season they were a cut above the rest.

The game started off in frantic fashion and Pana FC looked up for a fight and was rewarded early on to make the game 1-0. One trend that Pana FC have showed is that they are extremely shaky at the back and unforced mistakes whether it is a slide tackle or a mistimed tackle often leads to penalties or indirect freekicks.

Reggae Boyz turned up the gears and was asserted their dominance while punishing Pana FC for sloppy defensive work. 4-1 up and Reggae Boyz looked like they were cruising but Pana FC showed a grit and determination that has often been found missing throughout the season.

With two quick-fire goals, the match suddenly became 4-3 and the match turned into a frenzy! Pressure on the referee for every 50/50 call became higher and struggled to keep the match on an even keel. A backpass from the defender to the keeper which he consequently picked up meant that an indirect freekick taken quickly against Pana FC’s slow thinking and lack of street-wise football meant the game again looked to get away from Pana FC.

Pana FC kept pushing and were rewarded in stoppage time to make it 5-4 but at this point it was little too late.

What a game. What a finish. This is why we love the South London League.
