pana fc vs el rafico
The local derby arrives again and another blockbuster at the 7 a side South London League. Pana FC were looking to avenge their earlier defeat against El Rafico and arrived with a new look squad. El Rafico have kept their core team together for the best part of the season and were leaning on their chemistry and togetherness to keep their title challenges alive.
The match started in great fashion whereby both teams were looking to assert their dominance. El Rafico started off strongly being able to retain the ball but were sloppy in the final third. It wasn’t until a swift counter attack which saw Lance punish the visitors to see them take the lead.
Throughout this season, El Rafico have often found themselves in passages where they are often sloppy in possession and Pana FC knew they had their moment as momentum swung in their favour and looked dangerous. Pressure told as they were able to pounce on an unforced mistake and punish El Rafico on the counter attack.
1-1 at halftime and the game looked in the balance as to who would take the game by the scruff of the neck and take control.
Second half came and El Rafico looked more passionate from the off and hungry. Goal after goal after goal and Pana FC lost confidence in the match and with their new teammates. The final score 9-2 to El Rafico fully justified and Pana FC left wondering what could have been if they stayed together as a unit.
