wisloka vs se lions

First off we had the two newcomers to the 8 a side South London League, Wisloka versus SE Lions. SE Lions were keen to make amends from their first game where they were dismantled by the in-form Pana FC. Wisloka enter the league as the unknown to the rest of the teams and were keen to make an early impression.

It wasn’t even 10 seconds and Wisloka left their mark! Pouncing on an unforced mistake by SE Lions and they found themselves in front. SE Lions main issue is their lack of hunger and desire of the ball and was clear they have not resolved these problems as they often found themselves emptying the midfield when they went on the attack with no effort to track back.

Wisloka made light work of SE Lions with a 14-4 win and certainly enjoyed their first taste. They will be mistaken if they think every week will be the same however and will need to stay humble if they are to add to their first win of the season.

pana fc vs reggae boyz

The last time these two faced off, we had a blockbuster affair and this game was no different. Both sides came in with confidence for different reasons. Reggae Boyz being the league champions undefeated fear nobody and Pana FC starting to build their squad with added quality meant that this game was going to be a close one.

In similar fashion, Reggae Boyz controlled the game as they do in all of their matches but were lacking a killer instinct and credit given where credit is due, Pana FC defended as a unit and were very solid. Pana FC were not interested in fighting fire with fire by trying to dominate the ball and found success with their counter attacks through their wingers, Gideon and Peter.

Reggae Boyz midfield pair of Melvin and Tunde possess so much quality that it makes sense as to why they went by this approach and Pana FC’s midfielder Tee and JJ were very combative and tried to disrupt their flow where they could. Pana FC should find themselves lucky with having such a lenient referee as there were numerous fouls which could have easily led to a sin-bin.

Pana FC found themselves 2-0 up but Reggae Boyz have the know-how in situations like this that it would be silly to count them out of getting back in the game. The introduction of Duvaine was very much needed and provided the focal point that they missed and continuously found themselves in dangerous positions by which they managed to claw the game back to 2-2.

A sin-bin was inevitable after all of Pana FC’s fouls and Tee found himself sitting on the sideline for 5 minutes but surprisingly this was the period in which Pana FC found themselves back in front leading 4-2 with 5 minutes to go.

Fergie time or Reggae Boyz time? Reggae Boyz managed to pull back two late goals to finish the game 4-4 in yet another exciting game at the South London League. Pana FC will be angry that they let two 2 goal leads slip but will find confidence in their set up going forward. Reggae Boyz certainly will not let their first game be a theme for the rest of the season and predict they will come back in their next game full of determination.
