Week 2 of the South London League saw two teams have their first fixture.

SRC and Pana FC saw their first fixtures in the South London League result in a defeat against El Rafico and Reggae Boyz respectively.

SRC came up short after leading their match 2-0 but due to fatigue and a fighting spirit from El Rafico meant that they were on the receiving end of a 4-2 loss.

They showed flair, confidence and a young energy that threatened El Rafico early on capitalising on a lacklustre display by their opposition. However, as El Rafico grew into the game, they were able to show their collective spirit and cohesiveness which helped them claw their way back early on in the second half.

pana fc have work ahead…

Their fixture against Reggae Boyz resulted in a 4-1 defeat and will need to go back to the drawing board to work on a number of their shortcomings. Missing key players meant they were not a full strength and an unconvincing display was showcased.

Although combative, a number of defensive mistakes were their shortfall as they conceded a number of free kicks around their box and penalty for sliding in the area. The game could have been a different story as when they were 2-0 down, a period of dominance showed their potential.

Reggae Boyz continued their rich vein of form with another dominant showing with their togetherness, slick passing and know-how all over the pitch. This match confirmed our predictions in Week 1 and certainly look favourites to challenge for league honours.
