Recap
Pana FC show their full arsenal.
A new look side with some new players entering their side meant that SRC were facing a completely different outfit to what they would expect. The South London League has been nothing but goals, goals and more goals with this fixture being no different!
SRC were without some of their standout players in their previous fixture against SRC but still started the game with full confidence as they always do. Pana FC looked comfortable on the ball in the early stages and asserted their dominance with controlled possession and rarely put a foot wrong. It took until almost the end of the first half before the deadlock was broken with a mistake from SRC’s goalkeeper to give Pana FC’s first clear cut chance of the match.
The floodgates open.
Once the first goal went in, this football match turned into a basketball contest with the match becoming end to end while bodies started to fatigue. Some outstanding David De Gea like saves from Pana FC kept their side ahead and it wasn’t until a screamer from the halfway line which put a closely fought contest between two sides into a dominant performance which led to more opportunities and more goals.
SRC still battled and were unlucky to not get more luck in front of goal as Pana FC’s keeper pulled out some unbelievable saves and would be fair to say, the best keeper at South London League to date.
Pana FC were 4-0 going into added time and another screamer from the same player earlier in the match truly put the game to bed.
Pana FC have stamped their mark.
In their earlier losses, the potential was there and it certainly looks like Pana FC are putting their pieces together and becoming a dangerous side. They are still playing catch up to the leaders, Reggae Boyz, and will need to put together a string of wins to really threaten the league for honours. Their next opponent El Rafico who are chasing for league honours will be looking to put their loss behind them and bounce back with a win.
SRC are still ones to watch.
You cannot help but think SRC will come good as their confidence on the ball never falters but similar to their other losses, when fatigue comes into play, their structure and positivity falls by the wayside and give opponents chances to get back into the game. Their next fixture is against Footy Addicts who they enjoyed success against and will look to bounce back with a win.
